| Caveo Technology, a technology consulting firm located in Minneapolis, is seeking qualified professionals for its Software Development practice. The Senior Programmer Analyst has responsibility for designing, developing and deploying technology solutions for Caveo Technology Inc. and its clients. This position offers a competitive base and performance pay model based upon billable utilization and gross margins providing the over-achiever with exceptional earning potential.
Essential Responsibilities
- Responsible for the analysis, design and implementation of application and custom integration solutions including new functionality, enhancements and interfaces
- Meets information architecture financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing a budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
- Defines infrastructure for design and integration of internet computing systems by analyzing information requirements; determining platform architecture, technology, and tools; studying business operations and user-interface requirements; directing development of physical database.
- Supports and troubleshoots problems with existing systems
- Works with internal and external business customers to define and document business requirements and provide expertise in the development of new solutions
- Works with internal teams to identify client opportunities; participates in client engagement processes
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of state-of-the-art programming languages and object-oriented approaches in designing, coding, testing and debugging programs
- Understands and consistently applies structured systems Development concepts, methodologies and processes
- Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Requirements
- BA or equivalent in computer science or relevant discipline
- 5-10 years of information technology experience
- Some or all of the following technical skills: JAVA, J2EE, EJBs, Struts, JNDI, SOAP, Hibernate, SQL, XML, XSLT, HTML, .NET and LDAP
- Demonstrated experience with application server technologies, Web services technologies, database technologies, directory technologies, identity management technologies and portal technologies
- Experience with the Rational Unified Process, and Rational product set preferred
- Solid analytical skills with the ability to solve technical problems on the fly
- Able to interact with all levels of management and clients
- Able to work under pressure with highly visible and complex systems
- Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
